Message by President, Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC)

The global furniture industry continues to thrive and is expected to grow from S$631 billion in 2017 to S$766 billion in 2021, with the biggest contribution of growth coming from Asia, according to the latest Technavio report.

The Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) is committed to help our industry players capitalise on such opportunities. To do so, we would need to evolve and move away from traditional mindsets and ways of doing things.

The year 2018 promises to be an exciting one as we start to roll out the first wave of many projects – a culmination of our new industry transformation map (ITM).

Supported by the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), the SFIC has developed the three-year ITM with stakeholders and collectively arrived at our industry dream ‘‘To be the Asian Hub Influencing Tomorrow’s Urban Living’’.

‘’Growth Asia’’, ‘’Customer-Centricity’’ and ‘’Business Agility‘’ are three key pillars identified to help us realise this dream.

Creation of urban living solutions will not just be an industry-wide effort. We will also be working closely with government agencies and relevant partners, including architects, designers and building contractors, on eight initiatives under these pillars to achieve our goals.

We look forward to more collaborations and realising our dream together.

Thank you and we wish you another fruitful year!
